We build resin coating systems with an innovative approach for resin windings. The innovation lies in the fact that the winding enters the autoclave where all the cycles are performed: winding preheating, vacuum casting, and polymerization. A complete cycle is completed in 6 hours. The innovation consists of performing all the processing cycles in the autoclave, including coil preheating, vacuum, casting, and polymerization.

The turbo-mixers are able to degas the resin in a very short time thanks to the particular technique adopted (see the drawing): an anchor-shaped mixer rotates in a circular motion, while a high-speed screw generates the upward movement of the resin.

The MX-ST consists of a tube containing a series of spirals that mix the two components (hardener and resin), reversing their flow direction many times (see Photo 10). The mixing of the hardener and resin components results in a theoretical subdivision of the resin and hardener with a volume of 2.9 - 10^-8 mm³, a volume almost at the molecular level, making the final product identical to that obtained in 3-mixer systems. The static mixer developed by Silmek is easy to use, economical, and compact. Our static mixer is equipped with a recirculation circuit for the components, preventing sedimentation inside the tubes. During the casting phase, the pressure is constantly monitored by the PLC software.
The volumetric pump | |
The two components (H and R) are transferred to the MX-ST according to the required volumetric ratios via a high-precision volumetric pump. The volumetric pump manufactured by Silmek is the most technologically advanced product currently available, as it is able to maintain the exact required ratios even with different viscosity values of H and R and at various capacity levels. The pump ensures constant ratios with capacities of 1 kg/min and 8.5 kg/min.
The advantages of the static mixer
The static mixer produced by SILMEK perfectly addresses the need to "pour slowly" and at the highest level of fluidity, as the resin is formulated at the very moment it is poured. In addition to this key function, the MX-ST offers other advantages listed below. The MX-ST produces the formulated resin necessary to effectively fill the coils in the autoclave, rather than a theoretical calculated amount, which could be too large or too small, causing further issues. There will be no difficulties if the pouring process needs to be stopped after identifying leaks in the molds; with the third mixer system, on the contrary, large amounts of formulated resin would often have to be evacuated and disposed of. The MX-ST produced by SILMEK provides a system with no resin residues. This ensures that no waste is ever produced.
